Two island studies on the 36 × 48 in island (v0.1.4 shown). Full-height trash: the BWBB18-2 door-and-drawer pull-out (two 35 qt bins) becomes the BWBB21-2 FH, one 21 in full-height door over two 50 qt bins on 100 lb glides, so the dish drawers go from DB30 to DB27 and the island stays 48 in; the 12 in doors behind become B27 RD-12 and B21 RD-12. Waypoint has no 18 in full-height two-bin box: BWBB15 FH and BWBB18 FH carry a single 50 qt bin. Reduced-depth drawers instead of the 12 in doors: Waypoint drawer bases take RD-23 to RD-12, with 18 in boxes down to RD-21, 15 in at RD-18 and 9 in at RD-12; the wastebasket boxes have no RD option. Shown: DB27 RD-18 back to back in the drawer segment (dish drawers toward the table, pots and foil toward the cook) and a DB21 RD-12 behind the full-height trash. A 12 in foil box (12¼ × 2 × 2 in) lies along any of them; the 18 in extra-wide box (about 19 in long) only fits the RD-18 cook-side drawer, whose box is about 23 in wide, not the 9 in deep DB21 whose box is about 17 in wide. Step-stool storage, both pulled out. North end: a 6 in vertical pull-out added to the island, a plastic folding 2-step stool hung on the inside of its panel; the counter grows 6 in and the walkway to the sunroom wall drops from 73 to 67 in. Dining side: a 3 in tall toe-kick drawer behind the kick face, 36 in long and 22 in deep, with a slim aluminium 2-step lying flat. Waypoint ships the island toe kick as a loose assembly, so the drawer is an installer build on low-profile slides, not a stock part; the Blum SPACE STEP needs a 6 to 10 in plinth and is out. Stool sizes used: slim aluminium 2-step, 1¾ × 19¼ × 33¾ in folded, 220 lb (the Delxo steel 2-step, 2.2 × 18.9 × 33.9 in folded fits the same drawer); plastic 2-step modelled at 3.7 × 16 × 20 in folded, the common type listed at 330 lb, for example this one at Walmart, whose listings vary from 2 to 3.9 in folded thickness, so check the exact model before sizing the pull-out. The 6 in slot takes anything up to about 4½ in thick; a 3 in slot would hold only the aluminium one or a 1-step.
